I’ve never had the inclination to go to a gym & don’t like running! I was persuaded to try the Lean on me Sunday morning Bootcamp & went along feeling a little dubious but willing to give it go (especially as the first one was free!). So here I am a year down the line with it & thoroughly enjoying it. The sessions are always varied and seem to go by so quickly which is not only testament to Tom but also the great bunch of really supportive people that go along each week. If you want to improve your health & fitness & have some fun at the same time then this comes highly recommended.
I personally found the classes to be wonderful. We are all so sedentary in our roles and we all get so engrossed that it can be hard to get any exercise during the day (and also during the winter, if I am honest!), so having the opportunity to do something good at home, during my working day, was a god-send.
The classes were perfect in length and also effort required. I feel energized afterwards and ready to tackle the afternoon, so lunchtime is a good time for me. I found the sessions to be grounding and could help clear my mind and also elevate my mood at the same time. I also feel the benefits for a few days afterwards, so there are obviously some muscles getting worked on!
Tom is great and I think the classes are accessible to everyone. There were maybe a few clashes timewise – I know I had to miss one class, so a few people have mentioned that it would be good if we could have recordings or videos to do a class when it is convenient, or in case you can’t attend a class. I think this is a great idea and videos would be popular but the live classes would always be my first choice. I don’t know if other firms offer anything like this but I haven’t come across it before and I really think Dentons have been quite innovative by offering these sessions. I have looked forward to them each week and I am genuinely quite sad they are now over.
I think it’s really good I’d say it’s a really good way to re-stress, Wednesday afternoon is good timing as that’s when I’m at my busiest so helps me from feeling overwhelmed, also not a whole hour which is good so time for lunch after and the instructor is really good.
I personally have loved all the Pilates sessions I attended… it really makes a difference to your day and your mental state after doing it. Given that we sit at our desks all day and work from home, it can be so hard to get movement in, but these sessions have been great for breaking up screentime and ensuring we are looking after ourselves. I would love to have more sessions if they were available as Tom was a great instructor!
I like Tom and I feel like it really helps stretch out areas we end up neglecting being sat all day i.e. lower back, shoulders and gets the blood flowing generally! I would very much like them to continue. I feel like they really help with mobility.
It’s a shame it’s ending I do wish it gets extended as I really enjoyed them! I do Pilates outside of work so I know the benefits but because I am so busy at work it’s great that they have incorporated this during the day! It helps a lot as I sit on my desk remotely so it’s great to move and sessions from a professional!
Just wanted to say I thoroughly enjoyed the Pilates classes that I attended. They have given me a real boost of energy and helped immensely with my posture! As we are all sat at a desk for long amounts of time on a daily basis, I think a continuation of this class would be beneficial as the sessions really targeted exercises to help remote workers.
I’ve been training with Tom for around 18 months now having previously, pre covid, been a member of a gym doing mainly circuit and boot camp training classes. Suffice to say, that now covid is waning, I wouldn’t consider going back to a gym. Tom’s workouts are always well considered and varied, and always seem to find different muscle groups to work out judging by how I feel the day after. The workouts are also combined with routines that challenge you mentally allowing you to work on your coordination, technique and ultimately speed. Most importantly, they are great fun and I always look forward to the next one.
Training with Tom at LeanOnMe is always is varied and enjoyable with a clever mix of strength and technical workouts. The sessions really test you but also cater for people with different levels of fitness. Tom really cares for people and includes everyone which keeps me motivated and coming back!
Tom was recommended to me by a friend who was training with him and who was also once a personal trainer so I knew he would be a high standard as she would expect nothing less. I was not disappointed but I was also pleased to find him to be polite, professional and patient.
I wanted someone who would be motivational as that’s what I need to hear if I’m struggling with something. When Tom gave me instructions on how to do something… if the technique I used wasn’t quite right he would just politely repeat the instruction and not make me feel as though I had failed. He always ensured that my technique was correct to avoid any injures
I am a long-distance runner so I didn’t need help or motivations with cardio fitness but I did really need help to work on my core to help support my running. Tom always turned up every week with a work out that balanced my training. I noticed an improvement in the tone of my arms and the various exercises I did increased my stamina for running.
I also asked Tom to include in our training some special equipment I had bought for my gym and he did try to incorporate that too when it was relevant to the program.
Tom first trained me five or six years ago, but then we parted and lost touch. During the first Covid-19 lockdown, Tom reached out and offered Zoom based training sessions. I must confess, being used to going to the gym, the thought of a Zoom based session was intriguing but I also thought they would not be so beneficial. How wrong was I? Tom’s Zoom based sessions are very effective and productive to the point where I am now training a minimum of three times a week. The training schedule Tom prepares will challenge you to reach new boundaries with positive visible results. The sessions are a mixture of one to one plus group sessions, which again I must confess I enjoy the camaraderie of the group sessions. Highly recommended, give it a go and the best tonic for the current Covid-19 restricted world.
Tom is extremely approachable and is apt at tailoring the sessions for individual needs. He is great at motivation keeping you focused on the task at hand and provides encouragement to work hard and achieve the goals of being fitter and stronger.
I also appreciate the contact Tom makes between sessions, sending motivational messages and ideas for training as well as plans for future sessions.
Tom is thoroughly professional and I very much recommend him.
After having failed at numerous diet and DIY fitness routines over the years, I decided my last and only option to improve my health and wellbeing was to get a personal trainer. Starting personal training with Tom was one of the best decisions I have ever made! The change in my fitness levels, body shape, weight and energy levels has been dramatic, my family, friends and colleagues have really noticed the difference in me.
Tom tailors my training to suit my needs and personal style, he knows I get bored easily, so makes sure no two sessions are the same, which is perfect for me! Tom is always incredibly encouraging and knows how hard to push me, so I get the best out of each session.
I was quite nervous about starting training, but Tom with his friendly nature, soon put me at ease. I feel so much better about myself and how I look, I dropped over a stone in weight and went down a dress size in just 10 weeks, which is amazing and all thanks to Tom and his expertise! I thoroughly recommend trying Tom as your personal trainer, I’m sure like me, you won’t regret it!

I want to get myself feeling fit and looking my best for my daughter’s wedding next year and have been trying to do it on my own in the gym but I didn’t feel I was getting anywhere and so I gave Tom a call. Having a personal trainer means that I get to workout properly as I know Tom will get me motivated and I actually enjoy working out now. Before I used to almost dread going to the gym as I felt self-conscious, unsure of what I should be doing and if I’m honest I found it quite boring. I was paying quite a bit out each month for nothing, thinking I’ll really get myself in gear next week………it never happened! Tom makes the fitness sessions challenging but fun, it has given me more confidence as my fitness and core strength has improved so quickly training in this way compared to pounding the treadmill or streets. If you’ve been thinking about getting fit I recommend you go for it now and give Tom a ring! Angela
This time I wanted more personal guidance, someone I could trust to take charge of my physical wellbeing and development and so five months ago I started training with Tom.
In this comparatively short time, I have been amazed at the progress I have made. My aim was to be able to perform all the daily tasks of life with ease and to keep myself able bodied but I feel I have gone beyond that and am stronger and more energetic than I have ever been, so it’s never too late for old dogs to learn new tricks!
Tom is very professional and particular when it comes to detail and so I feel confident that everything I do is done correctly and is tailored especially for my needs and despite his calm demeanour, don’t think you can get away with ‘I can’t’ ! So much more is achieved when the focus is all on you and in pulling out of you more than you ever thought was there. And it’s fun!
I am 71 years of age and broke my ankle 2 years ago. When it was healed I was advised to exercise more to regain fitness. Tom helped me by starting with simple exercises and we have gradually moved forwards. He made sure that my muscles were becoming stronger and my joints a little more supple. He then worked on improving my stamina. I look forward to our sessions knowing that I will be encouraged to push my limits further. I still have a way to go but feel much fitter and happier. Tom is very reliable, friendly but always the professional. He is very patient and explains the effects of the exercises on the muscle groups and joints. He also advises on nutrition which has been very helpful. I have no hesitation in recommending him as a well-qualified and trustworthy Personal Trainer.
Tom is very approachable and always on hand for advice along the PT journey with him. He is very friendly and a pleasure to work with. He motivates you in a way that is highly encouraging and the results have shown this. The sessions are great. No one session is the same and Tom always keeps me on my toes. They get harder and harder but testament to Tom I have been getting fitter and leaner so anything he throws my way I (just about) complete. My goal was a leaner more defined physique after years of partying and over indulging. After session 1 we discussed and changed the dietary approach and I’ve not looked back since. 9 weeks later I’m lifting heavier than ever. Would I recommend Tom? In 1 word, YES. You will not regret it. His style of training is fantastic and his approach and encouragement is a breath of fresh air.
Training with Tom has given me the motivation to get back into fitness, be healthy and maybe look into joining a new sport.
I felt that the level I was pushed to was great as it wasn’t too easy but wasn’t too hard. From the start the warm up made me feel that all my muscles were warmed up and that my lung capacity was at its best, ready for the next stage. Within the session I felt that all my body was being worked.
I would recommend Tom as he makes you feel at ease, but challenges you, pushes your abilities and gives you the motivation that is needed to help reach goals.
Thanks again you’re a fantastic coach!
